सफलता की चाबी

After having completed studies,  when a youth goes out in search of a job in Government sector in India, he finds that he has to compete with other aspirants whose number is in lakhs. In India Union Public Service Commissions, Staff Selection Commission, State Public Service Commission and Banking Board conduct such exams. Almost in all types of competitive exams questions pertaining to Mathematics, Reasoning, English and General Knowledge are  compulsory in India. Right from the post of Multi Tasking Staff to the highest level of Civil Services exam (CSAT) one has to gain expertise in the field of Mathematics, Reasoning, English and General Knowledge. Lakhs of candidates fight for few posts and at last only those candidates are selected who score a considerably high score. Some exams are conducted in single tier and other in multi tier like preliminary/scrutiny exam and afterwards main exam and interview / Group discussion etc. Each and everybody tries its best to get through these exams but number of successful candidates is less than one percent. Out of this one percent further segregation is done on the basis of performance in the interview and other advanced tests like group discussion.  The main reason of unsuccessfulness in competitive examinations is non proficiency in Mathematics and Reasoning. If these segments are expertise properly by the candidates then they may be sure of their success. The questions of general knowledge, awareness require attentiveness of mind. The examiner wants to test the optimum skill of the candidate. The questions asked in the present competitive examinations are of psychological in nature. These question are not of hard nature but seems complicated because the candidates do not know the technique to solve them. Now question is whether this technique is inherent or can be acquired by any candidate. Our experience has showed that if there is rhythm between a student-parent –teacher then this technique starts developing right from nursery class and matures up to matriculation. Suppose we conceive about such student who has done hard work right from the first class and up to matriculation, there are 99.9 percent of chances of his success in the competitive examinations. In next two classes i.e. eleventh and twelfth such student simply grow up his knowledge. This means that the student simply plays some tougher tricks with his mind. To make this concept more clear we can conceive about a little boy or girl who practices gymnastic. Only that kid who has practiced gymnastic right from the age of two or three years can become a good gymnast otherwise learning gymnastic at bigger age will invite muscular strain of any deformity in ligaments and bones. Learning Mathematics and Reasoning is of similar nature by which mind of a student becomes quite elastic. Here, we are talking about the time and mental exercise. Such ideal student makes his mind flexible over ten years. His parents and teachers also coordinates with him. Such type of exercise begins with learning of counting, learning tables, addition, subtraction, division, comparing quantities, percentage, time and work, profit and loss, area and mensuration, algebraic expressions, geometry, trigonometry etc. Now, these items can not be taught forcibly as these are the most more items. No students likes these. Here the teachers and his parents have to make a student to understand that he has to learn to love mathematics because in his near future this subject will reward him. To make mind of a child more flexible the teachers and parents can play games of reasoning like comparing pictures and finding out differences in them, mistakes in spellings, jumbling exercises etc. A suitable reward can be put forward. Traditionally out Grandmothers and elder women used to play with little children with puzzles. To find out answers of puzzles is brain storming and brain exercising. What I am writing in this blog is the result of such puzzles solved by me during my childhood. Now a days, every thing has been kept at the helm of teachers. Parents think that they have paid a lucrative fees to teachers and tutors and their duty is over. This is the wrong and ulterior notion. This is creating a large army of such students who will definitely see a dark future after having passed their matriculation, twelfth, graduation examination because they will not be able to breakthrough any exam. During the  first class to tenth class to tenth class instead of learning in a proper way many students also use other methods to climb up like copying etc. Such methods simply make a student astray. Here, it is apparent that learning languages is also important. In addition to languages, geography is the subject which can crate interest in the minds of students in their early student hood days. This methods is not adopted. Mostly, teachers behave like dictators. A feeling of fear prevails upon in the minds of students. The teachers and parents should politely tell the students that in the event they do not learn daily in a routine manner they will not be in position to break through any competitive exam which is the necessity of present time. In future such exams will be more tough. In each school, daily, there should be a period in each class when turn by turn each student should be made teacher and he should teach other students pretending a teacher. By this, confidence will be created in the minds of students. Positive results can be seen through these efforts. But this is not a easy task. The Children / students should be quite obedient to their teachers and parents. In next post I will discuss the methods by which a student who lagged behind during his school hood days can step forward along with other hardworking students.
