Step 1:
UNDERSTAND SYMBOLS OF NUMBERS
Basic symbols of numbers are
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Beyond that numbers are constructed by
combining these basic numbers.
Step 2:
MEMORIZE COUNTING
Memorize counting from 0 to
100 and more as you can. Each next number is constructed when 1 is added to
previous number.
Step 3:
UNDERSTAND NUMBER SYSTEM
NATURAL NUMBERS:
Each 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9, 10………
is a Natural Number.
1 is smallest natural number.
Largest natural number can not be
determined, so we call it infinity.
Difference
between two consecutive numbers is 1.
WHOLE NUMBERS:
Each
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10……… is a Whole Number.
1 is
smallest natural number.
Largest
Whole Number can not be determined so we call it infinity.
Difference
between two consecutive Whole Numbers is
1.
Except
Zero, every Whole Number is a Natural Number.
Step 4:
Learn and practice
Adding Natural / Whole Numbers.
Step 4:
Learn and practice Subtracting Natural / Whole Numbers.
Step 5:
Understand and memorize Number
Tables from Table of 2 to Table of 30. When we memorize particular table, there
is constant difference of that number each time in that table. Suppose we are
talking about table of 3, we write it as under:
3 x 1= 3
3 x 2= 6
3 x 3 =9
3 x 4= 12 …. and so on.
This means that we wrote 3
one time, then two times and added these two 3s. Similarly added three, four,
five….times.
Similarly we can construct
remaining tables and memorize these. For memorizing at least five repetitions
are required with gap of times.
Learning of Tables can take
some time. Keep patience. Loudly reciting of Tables to memorize is recommended.
Here it is pertinent to state
that most of the candidates / students fail to memorize tables even they have
passed their 12th class. The result is that they can not give
desired out put in competitive exams. This is ironical. Memorizing Tables is
extremely important.
Step 6:
Once you have learnt Tables
up to 30, you are ready to carry out mathematical calculations with an ease.
Step 7:
Once you have done as above,
then you may proceed further to under stand concept of Integers, Rational
Numbers and Irrational Numbers.
